Jasmine Bartz is currently 2nd flutist with the Corpus Christi Symphony and piccolist of the Victoria Symphony. She also has an active performing schedule with her husband as part of the Bartz Duo (flute and piano) and the Bella Duo (flute and harp) with Louisa Ellis Woodson in Austin, TX.
Jasmine obtained her Doctor of Music Arts from the University of Oregon in flute performance in June of 2006 where she also received her Master of Music in flute performance in 2000 studying with Dr. Richard Trombley, a student of William Kincaid. She receieved her Bachelor of Music in flute performance from Northern Arizona University in 1996 studying with Philip Swanson, a student of Joseph Mariano.
Jasmine has won numerous competitions including the Petri Foundation competition, which sponsored Jasmine’s attendance for three major summer masterclasses studying with such artists as Leone Buyse, Julius Baker, Jeanne Baxtresser, Tadeo Coelho, Jeffrey Khaner, Jonathan Snowden, Keith Underwood, Jim Walker, and Trevor Wye. She won the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle Tour Competition, which sponsored six solo recitals in the Seattle area and over ten masterclasses in middle and high schools in the central and eastern Washington area. She also placed 2nd and 3rd in the Mid-South Flute Young Artist Competition in 2002 and 2005, respectively, as well as in the National Flute Association Masterclass Competition and Performing Artist Competition, which led to performances at the 2001 Washington D.C. and 2006 Pittsburgh conventions.
